January 4: "Thunder Mountain," a new radio play for children and families

Synopsis: No one in Joanna's village dares to climb Thunder Mountain, where dragons' dens are said to contain great treasure and greedy adventurers have disappeared before. But, now, a dragon has stolen the sun, throwing the village into darkness, and Joanna's father has fallen ill from hunger and cold. When Joanna sets off alone to climb the mountain and face the dragon, she finds unexpected help along the way and a surprising conclusion to her journey.

April 12: Anne Barone’s ten-minute play “Car Jack”
Anne Barone’s ten-minute play “Car Jack,” with actors Erwin Karl and Marcy Thorn in a reprise performance from “Summer Shortcuts.”
Host(s): Darlene DeMaille and Erwin Karl will co-host the program and discuss the play with Marcy Thorn and the playwright.

#ENOUGH, a national reading of 8 ten-minute plays written by teenagers about gun violence. 
Following the readings, a discussion about the plays and the issues surrounding gun violence in our Catskill Mountain community will be facilitated by Arnie Schwartz of WIOX Board of Directors, Chair of the Margaretville Hospital Board of Directors and Founding member of the Catskill Addiction Coalition, and Simon Purdy, Associate Professor of Criminal Justice at SUNY Delhi and Joyce St. George.

April 26: Reading of Anne Barone’s ten-minute play “Gone Fishing” originally performed at The Open Eye Theater in August, 2015

May 10: Live reading—complete with sound effects—of Sybil Rosen’s ten-minute play “Duet for Bear and Dog”

Sybil Rosen will be on hand to share her thoughts, writing process and experience.

May 24:  Live interview with Patricia Buckley from Franklin Stage about its upcoming season

June 7:  Focus on Plays about Gun Violence
Played an excerpt from PBS All Things Considered on William Electric Black's work against gun violence.  Black will be performing his solo show "Twelve Angry Electrics" at The Open Eye Theater in August.  Also played a PBS segment on #ENOUGH and re-aired segments from Erwin’s interview from March 1 with Diane Galusha and John Bernhardt to preview the upcoming Margaretville Cemetery Tour event on June 18.
